Nice collection of free fonts! Though the title of the post is a bit misleading since there are serif, sans-serif, and slab fonts in this post.
It's a great post.
However, I could not unzip the top five fonts or so.... broken link or something like that.

I would caution that the top Serifa fonts are actually commercial typefaces and not freeware. They were designed by Bitstream and available on MyFont for $50:
